Maintenance:

Maintenance of Teak: As it is a natural material, it may exhibit different nuances from one product to another or even between components of the same product. Moreover, sudden changes in temperature and humidity can lead to cracks. Without periodic maintenance treatment involving the application of common and specific oil-based protective products, the surface will develop a silvery-grey finish. This can be remedied by lightly sanding the surface and then polishing it with a hessian cloth. Prompt removal of small stains caused by oil or food products is essential to prevent absorption into the wood. Simply sand the affected area and polish it with a hessian cloth. Stains from coffee, juices, or natural drinks without additives can be quickly removed with water and a soft cloth.

When teak wood first gets wet, the surface may become slightly rough upon drying. However, this is normal, and the initial polished effect can be restored with light sanding followed by polishing with a hessian cloth. Teak is a natural material with a propensity to absorb water and rich in oils. Over time, these oils can rise to the surface and stain cushions that have been in contact. Stains on cushions can be effectively removed using soap and water.
